Midweek Pennant
This is ‘team’ oriented competitive bowls for both ladies and men bowlers who are affiliated bowlers. Rye Bowls Club for the 2023/2024 season has three mid-week pennant side in the Mornington Peninsula Bowls Region OPEN competition. RBC has sides in Divisions 7, 8 and 9. Each side is made up two teams. Thus each side has 8 players. A two end, two bowl ‘roll up’ (practice ends) for each team member commences the proceedings with the actual game commencing at 10.30am sharp. The game is played over 21 ends with a lunch break at noon. Matches are played in club uniform. Being an “Open” competition men and women can play in any position in the team. This competition is keen but friendly and a great way to meet other ladies and men bowlers playing throughout the peninsula. At the conclusion of each game competitive attitudes are put to one side and afternoon refreshments are enjoyed which provides social networking opportunities.
