Coaching
Lawn bowls is a wonderful sport for both females and males, young and old, all varying levels of fitness. People with disabilities also partake in bowls and are most welcomed. Bowls provides exercise both physical as well as mental, varying levels of skill, social, club and pennant competitions but above all a great social atmosphere both on and off the green.
For anyone contemplating taking up the sport for the first time or getting back after a long period of absence, the Club has a panel of experienced friendly coaches both male and female who would always be happy to provide whatever coaching would be required. Initial coaching sessions for non-experienced bowlers is provided. These sessions go for a short duration and there are several sessions provided. Naturally additional sessions can easily be arranged.
Existing players perhaps experiencing problems can also call on any of the coaches for assistance. An experienced coach can identify within a relatively short time any ‘faults/bad habits’ an experienced player may have picked up and cannot resolve by themselves.
Coaching is completely free of charge to all Club members and the Club can even provide a set of bowls on loan for new bowlers until the intending player acquires their own set. A set of lawn bowls (4 bowls) can be bought from $50 for a used set up to $550 for a new set.
For new bowlers the annual Club Membership Fee is approximately half for the first year.
