Midweek Pennant

This is ‘team’ oriented competitive bowls for both ladies and men bowlers who are affiliated bowlers. Rye Bowls Club for the 2017/2018 season has two mid-week pennant sides in the Mornington Peninsula Bowls Division competition. The two sides are made up of Division 1 and Division 3. Eight different clubs participate in each division. A two end, two bowl ‘roll up’ (practice ends) for each team member commences the proceedings with the actual game commencing at 10.30am sharp. The game is played over 21 ends with a lunch break at noon. Matches are played in club uniform and the rules of the game stipulate that men can only play lead or second. A lady must Skip. So, there you go men, do as you’re told! This competition is keen but friendly and a great way to meet other ladies and men bowlers playing throughout the peninsula. At the conclusion of each game competitive attitudes are put to one side and afternoon refreshments are enjoyed which provides social networking opportunities.
